Hot Pockets~Jojo (All Levels) is a line dance choreographed by Jojo Jackson and Giselle Anguizola; created for women in response to the men's line dance "Sausages." It contains intricate footwork, Charleston, and jazz movement. This is a bit of a challenge, but is open for ALL levels. We encourage everyone to learn this fun line-dance.
Honey Pot~Jojo (All Levels) is the sequel to "Hot Pockets," also choreographed by Jojo Jackson and Giselle Anguizola. In response to the sequel of the men's line-dance "Gold-member," this routine involves jazz, sass, and fun footwork combinations. This might be a challenge, but this class is open to ALL levels. This is the first time this class is being featured! Learn the routine before the rest of the country does.
Tap into your Rhythm~Jeni/Chester (All Levels): Learn how to use different rhythms to accentuate the sounds in your feet. This class will teach you how to tap and feel comfortable with rhythm. This is for ALL levels of ALL dance forms. Tap shoes optional.
Snakehips~Jeni/Chester (All Levels): You will learn how to do that wiggly dance which began in the 1930s by Earl Snakehips Tucker, who was known as the "Human Boa Constrictor." This class will focus on moving your body in a relaxed and controlled way; it involves a great deal of hip motion. This is for ALL levels of ALL dance forms.
Performance~Jeni/Chester (All Levels): Jeni & Chester are masters at performing. Learn how to do their art, but continuing it by adding your own personality and style. You will learn how to feel confident & comfortable in front of audiences. You will get tips on how to become a better entertainer. This is for ALL levels of ALL dance forms.
Charleston 1920-1930~Jojo (Beginners): Learn the basics in that dance craze that hit the 1920s, called the "Charleston." In this class you will get the fundamentals for solo dancing and you will be able to tell the difference between the 1920s & 1930s form of the Charleston.
The Lindy~Jojo (Beginners): In this class you will learn how to partner dance to swing, big band music, and jazz. The Lindy Hop, beginning in the late 1920s was a rebellious & energetic dance that took the nation by storm.
The Flapper~Corina (Beginners): This class will teach you how to add styling variations to the basics in Charleston. Learn to spice up your dancing with more prominent movements.
Lindy Hop & Styling Class~Corina (Beginners): This covers the fundamentals in Lindy, as well as new styling moves & concepts that you can incorporate into your social dancing.
Black Bottom Babies~Jojo (Intermediate/Advanced): Previous to the Charleston was the popular dance form called the "Black Bottom." Learn how to do the Black Bottom, Shimmy, and Shake. This class focuses on upper & lower body combinations in Jazz movement.
Call & Response~Jojo (Intermediate/Advanced): This class will focus on how to get out of your comfort zone. You will be working on counteracting your weight & using that momentum to create new footwork. The key is feeding off of your partner.
Charleston Gals~Corina (Intermediate/Advanced): This class will combine styling and body control for you to incorporate in your Charleston. You will understand how to transition smoothly in between moves.
Hot Mama~Corina (Intermediate/Advanced): Learn those good ole following techniques, how to make your lines look smooth,& how to get your shapes looking nice and pretty. There will be an emphasis on swivel variations.
Happy Feet~Jojo (Masters): This class is for Masters only & is fast paced. It will involve intricate footwork, new moves, and different rhythmic patterns. You will learn how to feel good about your solo dancing.
White Heat~Jojo (Masters): This class is for Masters only & is faced paced. You will learn how to dance fast, keep control, and change your style in order to accommodate to the fast speed of the music.
Tap 101~Sarah (Beginners): Learn the very basics and fundamentals of rhythm tap, the type that emphasizes the rhythm in your feet. Your feet are the true instruments. This is a slow paced rhythm tap class, for beginners or people that have no dance background. Tap shoes optional.
Tip-Tap-Toe~Sarah (Intermediate/Advanced): You will understand the basics & time-steps by incorporating rhythm and feeling into your dancing. Rhythm studies deal with musical phrasing, dynamics, body placement, and improvisation. This class is for Intermediate/Advanced levels or people that have some form of dance background. It is a medium paced class in rhythm tap. Tap shoes optional.
Tappin' Rhythm Around~Sarah (Masters): This class will cover basics, time-steps, as well as some flashy hip moves to enhance your dancing. Emphasis is on the development of balance, ankle articulation, and timing. You will learn how to use control to bring about clarity in your sounds. This is a fast paced class and is meant for people that excel in other dance forms or are in the Masters level. Tap shoes optional.
Hoofer's Club~Sarah (Tappers): This class is for tap dancers. You must be familiar with rhythm tap and ready to create new challenging sounds.
Breakin' 101~Peppa (Beginners): You will learn the basics & fundamentals in Hip-Hop dance culture. You'll learn a little of rocking, top-rocks, and foundational moves. This is for people that have never break danced before, or know very little. It is for beginners, people that have no dance background, or would like a slow paced class.
Ride The Beat~Peppa (Intermediate/Advanced): Learn the fundamentals in break dancing, as well as top rocks, rockin, uprocks, and battle rocks. No knee-pads required; no floor work. This class is for Intermediate/Advanced Lindy Hoppers or people that have some dance background in any style. This is a medium paced class.
Breakgirls~Peppa (Masters): This class will focus on foundational footwork, go downs, freezes, and footwork/floor work drills. You will work on your flow and freestyle. This is a fast paced class and is meant for people that excel in other dance forms or are in the Master level. Bring knee-pads (optional), comfortable clothes, and sneakers.
Break Dancers Unite~Peppa (Breakers): Breaking is a highly explosive expressive dance form. Come work on incorporating some power moves into your breakin sets. This is a class for breakers & a continuation of the earlier classes (footwork, freezes, floor work, drills). You must be familiar with breakin and be willing to get a challenge for the day.
